He said that his attacker was a stranger. He said that two other men then shoved him to the ground. They had approached him from behind.Mr. Khatun said that he was severely beaten with a pipe. He said that one of the men also threatened to shoot him if he refused to remain silent. During that ordeal Mr. Khatun said the bandits placed duct tape across his mouth and nose and tied up both of his hands. They then ordered him inside of the house to where the jewellery was. The still shaken Khatun said while upstairs one of the bandits went straight to the front bedroom where his wife was and started to man handle her before escaping with a bag containing the jewellery.Mrs. Khatun who also spoke with Kaieteur News said that she was struck several times, some of the blows landing on her ear, head and mouth.Mr. Khatun is however blaming this second robbery on his inability to access electricity. According to him the area where he lives has been without electricity for the last 10 years.His wife said that she was able to identify one of the voices during the attack. She said that she was also able to identify the man from his stature.The police who were prompt in responding have arrested two persons in the Suddie area.
