Busy again! Nike sues StockX for selling shoe images as NFT without permission

Nike's indictment filed with the New York District Court yesterday (Feb. 3) says that the sale of StockX's NFTs constitutes a "trademark infringement" and could cause confusion to consumers. and asked the court to order the suspension of the said NFT.

Detroit-based StockX It is an online marketplace for buying and selling sneakers, bags and other fashion items. Last year, the market value exceeded 3.8 billion US dollars.

Nike revealed that StockX started selling images of Nike shoes as NFT last month. And also informing buyers that these tokens can be exchanged for "Real shoes" can be "in the near future"

The indictment states that StockX has sold more than 500 Nike-branded NFTs, which Nike deems the ���price manipulation��� that occurred, including NFT purchase/owner terms and consumer skepticism. has made a brand "Damage of reputation"

Nike has teamed up with digital art studio RTFKT to produce "virtual products" that will begin shipping this month.
