Guyanese cosmetologist and beautician Pamela Dillon was the recipient of the coveted Shabeau Beauty Award when the Shabeau Magazine hosted its glamorous Style Weekend in Barbados recently.On the weekend of April 19th and 20th 2008, Shabeau Magazine held its Style Weekend in Barbados, bringing together beauty professionals from across the region.The event also served as a forum for the launch of the third annual Face of Shabeau Caribbean Model Search Finals,Cheap Jerseys Store, the second annual Shabeau Beauty and Fashion Awards and the first annual Shabeau Beauty Expo and Hair Battle Competition.The Red Carpet glitzy event was held at the Sherbourne Conference Centre.Commenting briefly yesterday in a short interview,Fjallraven Kanken Italia, Mrs. Dillion was elated to have received the award.She said that the award pays off for all the hard work she has done in the field of cosmetology, and she added that she will continue to share her wealth of experience with both local and overseas individuals.Pic: Pamela Dillion (right) receives her awardPamela Dillon opened the first nail salon in 1988,Levn�� Boty Nike, and has been teaching Cosmetology in Guyana and abroad since then.Mrs. Dillon created the National Beautician Network and served as the president of NBN. She is also a founding member of the Cosmetology Association of Guyana and spearheaded the Vision of Perfection Beauty Trade Show in 1998.She also co-produced the Miss Millennium Pageant in 1998, the Miss Guyana Talented Teen in 2000, and created the first ever Mash Queen International Pageant in 2004.Mrs. Dillon has an interest in children, and has also created a Cotillion Programme at which she teaches teens from ages thirteen to nineteen.The Face of Shabeau Caribbean competition is an ambassador programme that gives models the opportunity to realize their dream of becoming an international model, and offers prizes that include a one-year contract, which will allow them exposure to auditions in the USA for lucrative career opportunities.Delegates participating in this year’s competition came from St Vincent and the Grenadines, Guyana, St Kitts/Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, U.S. Virgin Islands and Barbados.The judges for the Face of Shabeau 2008 Model Search Finals were the President of Trump Model Management and Grey Media Advertising Executive.At the end of the evening of April 19,Cheap Hockey Jerseys 2019, Odini Sutherland from St. Vincent and Randall Dolland of Grenada emerged the Face of Shabeau winners for 2008.This event was the climax of other activities held during the week leading up to the finals. Such activities included a photo shoot, an interview session, and a public relation demonstration.The Shabeau Hair Battle was won by Sherry-Ann Charles of Trinidad and Tobago, who was judged the winner with her hairstyles entitled “Kiss of the Spider Woman” and “Brown Coco Baby.”Shabeau’s Style Weekend was conceptualized as a vehicle for uniting the Caribbean’s fashion and beauty fraternity, for showcasing the region’s talent, and for creating opportunities for reward, growth and advancement.Shabeau Magazine is a full-colour, glossy Caribbean publication. The magazine,Adidas Scarpe Nuove, celebratied five years ago, has added the Shabeau Style TV programme now airing on Carib Vision every Thursday at 8pm,Babe Ruth Jersey, with repeats on Tuesday at 9pm.
